Timothy Ridout, hailed as one of the most highly sought-after violists of his generation, has garnered prestigious recognition as a BBC New Generation Artist and Borletti-Buitoni Trust fellow. This season, he captivates audiences as a soloist with renowned orchestras including the BBC Symphony Orchestra, Tokyo Metropolitan, hr-Sinfonieorchester, Odense, San Jose Symphony Orchestras, and the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra. In 2020, Ridout secured the esteemed Sir Jeffrey Tate Prize from the Hamburger Symphoniker and joined the Bowers Program of the Chamber Music Society of the Lincoln Center in 2021.

Renowned for his captivating chamber music performances, Ridout has graced numerous festivals throughout Europe, including Rheingau, Bergen, Sion, and Lockenhaus. He collaborates regularly with esteemed international artists such as Janine Jansen, Steven Isserlis, Joshua Bell, Isabelle Faust, Kian Soltani, Nicolas Altstaedt, and Christian Tetzlaff, among many others.

Ridout's exceptional talent is showcased through his recordings for the Harmonia Mundi label. His latest album, "A Poet's Love," in collaboration with pianist Frank Dupree, features selections from Prokofiev's Romeo and Juliet and their own transcription of Schumann's Dichterliebe. Other notable releases include Berlioz's "Harold en Italie" with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Strasbourg under the baton of John Nelson on Warner/Erato, and Bloch's Suite for Viola and Orchestra and Elgar's Concerto with the BBC Symphony Orchestra conducted by Martyn Brabbins.

Timothy Ridout performs on a remarkable viola crafted by Peregrino di Zanetto, dating back to the period of 1565-1575, generously on loan from a patron of Beare's International Violin Society.
