Timothy Chooi, an internationally renowned violinist, is celebrated for his commanding and exquisitely nuanced interpretations, rich and captivating sound, and captivating stage presence. As a highly sought-after soloist, recitalist, and chamber musician, he is revered for his diverse and innovative repertoire. Notable achievements include winning the esteemed 2nd Prize at the renowned Queen Elisabeth Competition, 1st prize at the Joseph Joachim International Violin Competition in Germany, and the prestigious Verbier Festival Paternot Prize in Switzerland.

Having graced prominent stages worldwide, Timothy has made impactful debuts at esteemed venues such as the Berlin Philharmonie, Toronto Symphony Orchestra, Wiener Concert-Verein's European tours, Amsterdam's Royal Concertgebouw, and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. He has collaborated with acclaimed violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter at Vienna's Musikverein and performed at Paris' Theatre Champs-Elysses, among other notable engagements.

Alongside his thriving performance career, Timothy Chooi demonstrates a deep commitment to violin pedagogy. As the Professor of Violin at the University of Ottawa, he passionately contributes to the development of future violinists. Timothy currently performs on two exceptional instruments, the 1741 "Titan" Guarneri Del Gesu violin on loan from Québec's CANIMEX and the 1709 "Engleman" Stradivarius from the Nippon Music Foundation in Japan, further enhancing his artistry and musical expression.
